Uber Trying To be Safer

Uber wants to make sure you’re safe when you choose to ride in one of its car. Now the company is taking even more precautions for riders, launching a new “code of conduct” for drivers that should in turn make riders feel a little safer when they’re sitting n the back seat. Uber now has an advisory board that will periodically look at the company’s safety procedures and ensure they’re doing everything they can to keep riders safe. It also plans to hire off-duty police officers dubbed the Uber Quality Assurance team, to periodically look into drivers and make sure they’re following the rules the company has set forth.

When riders do have a safety concern, Uber now has a 24/7 hotline they can call to discuss the issue stated AnastasiaDate. The team will investigate any serious safety concern on the platform, and will work with law enforcement when necessary to make sure it’s handled appropriately.

All that sounds great. It’ll be interesting to see how it all works once deployed, and if riding in Uber actually gets any safer. In addition to the above changes, the company is also improving its background checks, which should help to keep nefarious people off the platform to begin with.
