Randal Nardone is the Chief Executive Officer for the Fortress Investment Group, a private equity firm, which he also helped to found alongside Wesley Edens and Rob Kauffman. He has been part of the management of the group since its foundation two decades ago. Nardone would later become a member of the board of directors then in 2006. Nardone has had a very colorful career that has helped him gain the experience which he as used to help develop Fortress Investment Group to the heights that it has come to over the years. Randal Nardone has held executive positions both in the company he works for now and other companies, which is where he has gained most of his experience from. Not only has he gained experience in this fields he has worked in, but also, he has gained an immense amount of wealth together with his fellow founder of the Investment Group.

The entrepreneur comes at 557 on the Forbes list with a net worth of $1.8 billion. Mr. Nardone attended the University of Connecticut where he graduated with a degree in English and Biology. He also became a Juris doctor holder after graduating from the Boston University School of Law. He joined Thacher Proffitt and Wood where he held an executive position before joining Blackrock Financial Management where he worked until 1997. He later joined UBS as a Managing Director after which he left to found the Fortress Investment Group. Here, Randal Nardone holds several positions including being a principal of Fortress Credit Corporation, founder, and Chief Executive Officer of Fortress Investment Fund IV & V and co-founder of the Fortress Registered Investment Trust.

Other than these positions in Fortress, Mr. Nardone is the President and Chairperson of Springleaf Financial Holdings, Director of Ncs 1 LLC, Vice President of Newcastle Investment Holdings, Director of Eurocastle Investment Limited, and Director of Florida East Coast Holdings Corporation. Nardone is also the Director of Aircastle Limited, New Media Investment Group, SeaCube Containers Leasing Mapeley Limited, Brookdale Senior Living Inc. and Director of Alea Group Holdings Bermuda Limited among numerous other positions. Fortress Group’s success has put all its principals on the media due to its success, something a Japanese Multinational Company also noted. SoftBank, the Japanese Company, entered into a deal with Fortress Investment Group to make a full purchase of the company and take control of the assets that the company owned. Randal Nardone, Wes Edens, and Peter Briger continue to lead Fortress as an independent entity though still working under SoftBank.
