Rona Borre is a hard worker, but she is also a smart worker. She is the founder and CEO of Instant Alliance, a leading recruiting and staffing company located in Chicago, Illinois. Her company places professional candidates from the finance and technological fields with Fortune 500 companies, mid-sized and smaller companies.
Borre is also very active in Chicago business activities, and she sits in leadership roles in such organizations as the Economic Club of Chicago, The Young Presidents’ Organization, and the Chicago Network.
Borre also accepts many speaking engagements with civic clubs, business groups, and radio and television interviews. Everybody wants to know how she did it and she tells them. She started Instant Alliance in a spare bedroom of her Chicago condo after she quit the only other real job she every had. Her only companion, while she was starting the company, was her bulldog, Henry, and he was not much help at all, except for moral support. Check related article here.
When asked how she formed a leading company out of nowhere, she answers that hard work and outthinking the competition was the key. Most staffing companies just muddle along and fill positions, more of this topic on conferences.shrm.org. Borre says she gets to know the CEO of the company looking for the candidates and hires only what he or she specifically wants. Her failure ratios of people leaving after they are hired are practically zero. That is thinking smart.
