The Chainsmokers Keep Getting Bigger in 2018

The Chainsmokers are known around the world and their fanbase seems to keep growing every day as their accolades increase as well. While their fanbase is one measure of success, the impressive amount of revenue that The Chainsmokers have been able to bring in is yet another. As of 2018, the DJing duo is the 2nd highest earning DJs in the entire world. Some of the music stars that the 2 beat out on the list put out by Forbes include Steve Aoki and David Guetta.

The Chainsmokers was co-founded in 2012 by Alex Pall before Drew Taggart left college at Syracuse University and joined Alex Pall in New York City. The 2 set out to pursue their musical dreams under Adam Alpert as their manager who still has the position today. When Taggart joined The Chainsmokers, Alex Pall left his position at an art gallery located in Chelsea, Manhattan so they could both pursue music as their full-time careers. While Alex Pall wishes that he had a more interesting backstory to the name, it was really just a combination of a love for weed and an open domain name that inspired him.

Their debut album Memories… Do Not Open continues to have impressive sales even more than 2 years after it was initially released in 2016. The album has since gone platinum since it was released and has made it to the top spot on the Billboard list of top dance/electronic singles many times. In fact, it has been in the top position more than every other album but 2 and recently beat out The Gorillaz’ Demon Days for the third spot. While the album had a few hit singles on it like “Paris“, The Chainsmokers’ Memories… Do Not Open is probably best known for “Closer”.

“Closer” was recorded by The Chainsmokers” in collaboration with the singer Halsey. She had already built an impressive following before the diamond-selling single was released, but its popularity sent her to new levels of popularity that she never expected to achieve so quickly.

Chainsmokers Dedicate Billboards Win to Avicii

Thousands gathered at the Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas to attend the Billboard Music Awards earlier this month and it was impossible to ignore the absence of a celebrated artist.

The death of Swedish producer and DJ, Tim Bergling, better known in the EDM scene as the artist Avicii, is a tragedy that’s still affecting the music community and the Chainsmokers made sure they paid their respects to a promising young star.

While appearing on stage with pop star Halsey to hand Luis Fonsi the Top Hot 100 Song award for “Despacito,” the Chainsmokers, made up of producers Alex Pall and Drew Taggart, spoke about Avicii’s contribution to EDM as a community and how his legacy will sand as an inspiration to others. Halsey chimed in, urging those in attendance to reach out to loved ones suffering from mental illness like Avicii had.

When the Chainsmokers took the stage again, awarded for being the Top Dance/Electronic act, Taggart dedicated their win to Avicii’s memory for inspiring and influencing their music, ending with the hope that the late artist is finally at peace.

After word of his death hit social media in late April, Avicii’s family formally announced that the 28-year-old had taken his own life.

Geffen Records have yet to make a final decision as to whether or not they will make any of Avicii’s unreleased music available to the public.

Micheal Jackson has a had a career that all celebrities wish that they will one day have. He has won countless of Grammys, beloved by millions, to this day still have the highest selling album and was an innovator in the entertainment world. There is no one who would ever duplicate the King of Pop, but there is a man who does a great impersonator of the late great Michael Jackson.

There have been countless of people who have tried to make a big career out of impersonator Micheal Jackson, but only Sergio Cortes have come the closest of receiving worldwide success. Cortes is pretty much a walking clone of Michale Jackson. If you ever get a chance to seed Cortes perform, you would see that he has perfected his dance moves to Micheal Jackson to as close as possible. Not only do Cortes do an excellent job as impersonating Jackson moves, but he also has Jackson’s mannerism. Cortes has even perfected the soft-spoken voice that Jackson was infamous for when he was alive.

When Cortes perform, he often either lip sing to Micheal Jackson voice or he will lip sing to his own voice.Besides the great impersonation, he does of Jackson, their similar personalities and similar life are quite eerie. Just like how the world did not know much about Micheal Jackson life, besides the things that were reported in the media, Cortes lives a sheltered life as well. Both Jackson and Cortes are timid individuals when not on the stage. Micheal Jackson had a reputation of only opening up when he was speaking about his music or performing, and Cortes is the same way. Some people may go as far as saying that Cortes is Jackson reincarnation if you are the kind of person that believe in that kind of stuff.
Cortes uses three different allies when he performs as Michael Jackson. He goes by the names of Sergio Cortes Parra, Perseus, Sergio Jackson and as mention Sergio Cortes. It is noted that his birth name is Sergio H. Parra.Micheal Jackson was truly one of a kind, and no one would ever be able to duplicate him, but it is awesome that Cortes has devoted his life to keep the thought of Michael Jackson alive.
